Chris是Fox電視台今年第5季American Idol參賽的26歲新人，來自McLeansville, North Carolina (北卡羅來納州)，沒有受過任何歌唱訓練，聲音卻相當好聽! 最喜歡男歌手是Rob Thomas
Chris堅持自我詮釋而不迎合大眾口味的個性，是難得的Rocker，本來是相當受矚目能獲得冠軍的，可惜在最後以第4名淘汰，其中也引發許多爭議，不過其清新的形象和充滿發熱魅力的Rock風格，已經吸引了眾多的歌迷和肯定!
因為Chris在賽中演唱Fuel(美國著名搖滾樂團)的Hemorrhage太出色，賽後Fuel甚至邀請他當主唱，但Chris拒絕了，並組了自己的樂團Daughtry，也跟唱片公司簽了約，而首張同名專輯也順利發片啦! 還被評為美國最性感的光頭男歌手!...^^
